Boogie Day Important Info
April 26, 2026
Last Minute Race Registration
If you missed the online registration deadline (5 PM on Wednesday, April 22, 2026), you can register:
- in person at the Boogie EXPO (see above for details)
- on Race Day in Riverside Park between 7:00 am and 8:00 AM only.
Please note that last-minute registrants will not be guaranteed a race shirt.
Race Rules & Notes
- Participants must display their race bib on the front of their body.
- We ask that participants (walkers or runners) with strollers, start at the back of the pack when their distance is called to the start line. This is to ensure safety for all participants, as the starting area can be quite crowded.
- Timing chips ensure that timing begins from the moment a runner or walker crosses the start line.
- While we are thrilled to have elite runners and fast runners, we remind everyone that this is an event that celebrates community fitness at all levels! Please be patient, kind and friendly to each other out there!
- As with rules of the road, runners will pass on the left hand side, so if running slowly or walking, please stay to the right of your section of the route and have no more than two people abreast (beside each other), to facilitate easier passing.
- Please do not wear headphones so that you can hear instructions of volunteers and route marshalls who may be asking you to move to allow elite runners through. Always be aware of your surroundings!
- As a reminder, no dogs are allowed anywhere on the race route for participant safety.
To help keep the fun in Boogie, along with safety, here are some etiquette guidelines we hope all participants will observe:
1) Keep your ears open: Especially in congested areas, not wearing headphones will allow you to hear the participants around you and our Safety Cyclists and Race Marshals.
2) Cyclists on the route: We have over 20 safety cyclists on the route. They are there to bring in the first runner and last runner for each distance, plus everyone in between. If you hear their whistles, please pay attention! It is most likely to indicate that you need to move to your right, as someone is trying to pass you.
3) Passing lane rules apply: Keep to the right. This allows people to pass you on the left, just like driving a car.
4) Shoulder Check: Before you step out to pass someone or move over to allow someone to pass you, take a peek around you.
5) No dogs: We love our four-legged friends, but this is a human race only.
6) Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome, but must start at the back of your race distance. All other forms of wheels (scooters/rollerblades/bicycles, etc.) are not allowed on the course.
7) Display your race bib on the FRONT of your body! This helps our timing system accurately record your finish time.
8) Do not stop right at the finish line: Keep moving through the finish area so that others can finish behind you. We have 2 photo booths with professional photographers on site – we highly recommend you grab your friends and get your picture taken with your medal at one of these booths.
9) Be Courteous: Remember, there are other people in the race; allow them to have the same experience that you expect – think of others.
10) The most important! Have FUN!
Take The Bus
For Boogie 2026, The City of Kamloops and BC Transit have graciously allowed “Boogiers” to ride the bus FOR FREE, on Boogie Day, Sunday, April 26th! Free Transit and handyDART service will be available to participants in the 5K, 10K or half marathon. Just show your race bib to the driver when you board.
Event Day Parking
With an anticipated 3000 participants, space would be tight no matter where we were! Showing up early (you need to be in the park before 8:00 am) will give you a better chance of grabbing a spot.
Parking will be available in and around downtown Kamloops. Please only park in approved spots and pay, where and when required.
