Boogie is for EVERYBODY and EVERY BODY.

MOVEMENT IS CHANGE

Boogie the Bridge is Kamloops’ largest celebration of movement. Boogie is about so much more than running or walking, and it’s not just a single-day event.

Boogie the Bridge has inspired hundreds of people to make a difference in their lives, the lives of their families, and the lives of their community members, through movement and community involvement.

Now, one of Kamloops’ signature events, the “sea of red,” is a visual representation of the passion, commitment, and love that began this grassroots event and that continues to ground it to this day. Join us for this amazing event, a total party on the run, featuring bands, inspirational chalk art, and all the cheering and encouragement you could ever want, all along the route.

Participate (run or walk) in the 1K Kids’ Mini Boogie, 5K, 10 K, or 21.1K Half Marathon distances.

Our history

Boogie the Bridge is Kamloops’ largest celebration of movement. To date, Boogie has had over 38,000 participants (averaging over 2,000 for the last 13 in-person events) and raised over 1.2 million dollars before expenses for local Kamloops charities.

Boogie is much more than a running event – it empowers people to achieve their dreams and move their bodies, energy, and souls to become the best they can be.

Founded by Jo Berry, Carol Gillis, Nina Reimer, Dawn King, and Tracy Smith, all of whom wanted to make a difference in their community. The event’s purpose was to promote the benefits of running to improve both physical and emotional well-being. The original group of five believed in giving back and the theory that “Movement is Change,” which can lead to significant changes for people.

MOVEMENT IS CHANGE

Boogie the Bridge doesn’t just happen. It takes a team of dedicated volunteers to keep it “moving” along with some friends to lighten the load, especially on Boogie Day.
